The Electric Van Company wins the NAA Manufacturing Excellence Award
Recognised for bringing the EVC CitySprint from design to production, in a week that also saw the business secure ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification.
The Electric Van Company (EVC) has been named winner of the Northern Automotive Alliance (NAA) Manufacturing Excellence Award, one of the industry’s most highly regarded accolades, at a packed gala evening held at Crewe Hall in Cheshire.
The award recognises manufacturing excellence against a field of exceptionally strong competition, with judges praising the standard of entries across the sector this year. EVC’s win reflects the strength of the engineering and production work carried out at its manufacturing facility in Lancashire, where the company’s flagship electric van, the EVC CitySprint, has been taken from design concept through to full production.
This award is for the team that have worked tirelessly bringing the EVC CitySprint from design to reality at our Lancashire-based production facility. Their dedication, skill and attention to detail are the reason we’re standing here tonight, and this recognition is thoroughly deserved.
The award caps off a landmark week for the company, which also announced it has achieved ISO 9001 (Quality Management) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) certification for its manufacturing processes, a further endorsement of the rigour and consistency of EVC’s operations as it scales production of the CitySprint.
Together, the NAA award and the two ISO certifications mark a significant milestone for The Electric Van Company as it continues to grow its presence in the UK’s electric commercial vehicle market.
The win follows the company’s triple shortlisting at this year’s NAA Business Awards, where EVC was also a finalist in the Design & Innovation and Environmental & Sustainability categories.
Certified quality, certified sustainability
EVC’s manufacturing operation is now certified to ISO 9001 for quality management and ISO 14001 for environmental management, with UKAS-accredited certification by Interface NRM.
